A Fresh Start Toiletry Donation Drive

From 9:00AM to 5:00PM

Starting Monday, October 26, the local non-profit A Fresh Start will be collecting soap, and other toiletry donations for homeless shelters in the area. Any community member wanting to make a donation can drop off these items at the collection box in the Purdue Memorial Union from October 26 to November 2. Organizations interested receiving a collection bin for their use should email afreshstart.purdue@gmail.com.

Purdue Jazz Combo Wednesdays at Marriott Hall

From 5:30PM to 7:30PM

In partnership with the Purdue School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, our student jazz combos will perform in the Marriott Hall atrium. Come for dinner in the John Purdue Room or grab a coffee and gelato from Lavazza while you enjoy the sultry jazz of our student ensembles. Combos will perform on Wednesdays during the following dates: October 7th, 21st and 28th, and November 4th, 11th, and 18th at 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION OFFERS EDUCATION PROGRAM

“Understanding and Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors,” will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at West Lafayette Public Library located at 208 W. Columbia St. in West Lafayette. Learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers and learn strategies to help interview with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease. There are no fees to attend these programs, but registration is requested by contacting the Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline at 800.272.3900.
